table

<!--HIP   table   filename  'name=value'  -->

The indicated file name is loaded into the variable space at the level of the file containing the table command. Any 'name=value' arguments are evaluated before the table file is processed, and are added to the variable space at the level of the file containing the table command after any variables created by the table file. (That is to say that for scope purposes these are the more recent than the lines in the table itself.) Each line of the file should be of the form:

name=value

There should be no spaces in the 'name=' portion. Lines beginning with a semicolon are considered comments, as are lines with no equal sign or lines containing more than 255 characters.

Variable substitution is performed on each line before it is evaluated.

For more information see variable substitution.
